Robin studied cello with Vivian Joseph, Douglas Cummings and Alexander Cameron at the Royal Academy of Music, where he won the Sir John Barbirolli Quartet Prize and the esteemed Gerrard Heller Intercollegiate Quartet Prize. Since leaving the Academy he has worked as a soloist performing throughout the world in some of the most prestigious concert venues including the Moscow Conservatiore, the Royal Albert Hall, the National Concert Hall in Dublin with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and alongside Sir Anthony Sher in the acclaimed production of 'Primo' at the National  Theatre.

As a chamber musician he has toured throughout the UK, Spain, Germany and France. He has recorded four solo CDs and appeared as a guest soloist on more than fifty others. Robin also has a distinguished career as a teacher.
